Cloud sharing terms · 2026-10-19-v1

Share only family information and photos you have permission to use. Respect the privacy and wishes of living relatives.

Do not upload illegal content, child sexual abuse material, sexual content, threats, hate, harassment, scams or other abusive material. Do not impersonate people or send unwanted invitations.

Use Report in a shared tree to report content or a member. You can leave a shared tree or block its owner to stop access and future invitations from that owner. Owners can remove or block members.

Jalin Studio reviews reports and may restrict sharing, suspend a tree or remove content or accounts that break these rules. Contact [email protected] for help or an appeal.

Launch offers and renewal pricing

Current paid-plan prices are launch offers. Prices for new customers may increase later; no future price or offer end date has been announced.

Cloud Family launch subscribers keep their launch renewal price while their subscription continues on the same plan, even if prices increase for new customers.

New purchases, plan changes and re-subscriptions use the price confirmed by your store. Local Plus remains a one-time purchase.

Cloud Family renews automatically monthly or annually until you cancel through your store. An annual price is billed as one yearly payment. Your store confirms the final price, currency, applicable taxes, renewal terms and any eligible trial before purchase.

Jalin does not offer refunds. App store refund policies and applicable consumer rights still apply.

How tree access works

Invited relatives with a linked tree profile can join without buying a plan. Without a linked profile, their own active Cloud Family subscription is required to view it. You pay for the tree’s cloud storage and choose each person’s permissions. Each email/account can link to one profile per tree, and each profile can belong to one invitee.

Local plans and tree copies

Local Free includes one personal tree and up to 16 people. Local Plus and active Cloud Family include unlimited local trees and people. Invited trees do not use your personal Local Free allowance. Existing records remain available after a downgrade; adding, importing or duplicating trees still follows your active plan’s limits. A duplicate is a new local tree and does not inherit members, invitations or cloud sync settings.

Cloud storage and expiry

Each cloud tree has a 256 MiB photo-storage allowance, shared by the owner and invited members. A member’s subscription does not increase this allowance.

After the owner’s Cloud Family subscription has expired for 90 days, the shared cloud tree, including invitees’ edits and photos in it, is scheduled for deletion. Cloud sharing and sync end when that tree is deleted. Invitees keep their sign-in accounts, own local trees and permitted access to other owners’ trees, including on Local Free. Access to other shared trees still requires a linked profile or the invitee’s own active subscription and the owner’s permission. An invitee’s own subscription expiry is handled separately.

A fully downloaded tree includes locally saved photos. Deleting a cloud tree leaves trees and photos saved on your device in place. Downloaded copies and exports on other devices cannot be remotely erased. If no local copy or backup survives, deleted cloud data cannot be recovered. Renewing does not restore deleted cloud data; with an active Cloud Family plan, you can upload a surviving local tree as a new cloud tree.
