Jalin · Family tree guide
Explore faraid with an Islamic inheritance chart.
Turn recorded family connections into an heirs chart, or carta waris, and explore an Islamic inheritance learning scenario. Jalin shows fractions and percentage shares for supported family arrangements.
- Optional for each tree
- Works on local trees offline
- English · Bahasa Malaysia
Connect the heirs chart to your family tree
The Heirs view uses recorded confirmed birth relationships and current marriages. Select a person to explore the family around them. The details group fixed shares, remainder and relatives receiving no share, with reasons and relationship information.
Learn with fractions and percentages
Supported scenarios show exact fractions and percentage badges on the tree. These can help you explore how a recorded spouse, parents or children affect a learning scenario. Expand Scenario assumptions to understand the family and survival assumptions used.
Keep unresolved cases visible
Missing relatives, unclear relationships and complex combinations can change the result. Cases outside the supported calculation show Needs review instead of an invented percentage. An unallocated remainder stays visible; the app does not automatically apply radd or decide a Baitulmal entitlement.
How to use this tool in Jalin
- Create or open a family tree and review the relevant birth relationships and marriages.
- Enable Islamic family tools when creating the tree or in Tree settings.
- Select a person in Tree and choose Heirs to open a Learning scenario, including for someone who is alive.
- Open View details for fractions, percentages, reasons and Scenario assumptions. For a deceased person, a separate Recorded death snapshot helps review historical family information.
Questions about Faraid & Islamic inheritance
I am looking for a faraid family tree. What does Jalin show?
Jalin connects an heirs chart to the family tree you record. Learning scenarios show fractions and percentages for supported cases and explain which cases need review.
Can I explore Islamic inheritance while someone is alive?
Yes. The Learning scenario is hypothetical. Viewing it does not change the person’s life status or family records.
Why might an inheritance chart show a remainder?
Some supported scenarios leave a balance without an allocated recorded residuary. Jalin shows that balance separately rather than changing the displayed shares to make them total 100%. The case needs further review.
Does Jalin provide an online estate calculator?
The website explains the feature. Learning scenarios run inside the Jalin app and work on local trees offline. The app calculates supported cases and explains when a case needs review.
