Jalin · Family tree guide
Understand mahram relationships in your family tree.
Create a family tree, then explore how recorded family connections relate to mahram status. Jalin brings a mahram relationship chart into the same tree as your family photos and profiles.
- Optional for each tree
- Works on local trees offline

A mahram chart connected to your family records
The Mahram view uses recorded blood relationships, qualifying milk relationships and marriage connections. Select a person to see relationship badges around the tree, then open a relative’s details to follow the connection and its explanation.
Read the words as well as the colours
Badges distinguish Mahram, Non-mahram, a recorded current spouse, Needs details and Not applicable. Each uses a label and icon. Missing family facts remain visible as questions to resolve; an unrecorded connection is not proof that no relationship exists.
Keep different family links clear
Birth, adoptive, guardian and milk relationships carry different information. Record the actual connection and review incomplete parent or marriage links. Jalin keeps the relationship path, mahram finding and marriage restrictions separate so you can read their context.
How to use this tool in Jalin
- Create or open your family tree and record the relevant people and relationships.
- Enable Islamic family tools when creating the tree or in Tree settings.
- Select a person in Tree and choose Mahram to see the visual relationship badges.
- Open View details to read a connection, its supporting path and any missing facts. Use Compare to explore two selected people.
Questions about Mahram relationships
Can I check mahram relationships offline?
Yes. Local family trees and the bundled relationship tools work on your device. A cloud account is not required for local use.
Why does a relationship say Needs details?
The result needs additional recorded facts, such as a confirmed parent link or marriage information. Open the details, review the explanation and update the relevant family records.
Are Islamic tools enabled for every tree?
You choose them separately for each tree. Your ordinary family records and photos remain available when the tools are switched off.
